Great financial outcomes are always worth celebrating. But it's the growth in confidence I see in clients over the years that is the most rewarding part of my role.

A lot of people come to us initially feeling directionless and unsure of where they stand financially. We get stuck into the practical side of getting their financial ducks in a row - the unsexy stuff like cashflow, super, insurance. But the fun part is showing them what's possible - opening their eyes to the fact that the trip, the renovation, the early retirement - more of it is within reach than they thought.

Hearing the stories of the holidays, the family updates, the hobbies - all made real by having a financial plan - is when you can maybe see the difference you're making in people's lives.

Outside work, I'm currently in the throes of being a first-time dad, so free time doesn't really exist right now. When I do get a spare moment, I'm usually working through the laundry list of projects my wife Claire has kindly prepared for me. I enjoy a bit of woodworking here and there; my latest project was a custom kennel condo for my two sausage dogs.

I'm a bit of a movie buff and love going to the cinema.

I'm also a self-proclaimed amazing cook, which I attribute entirely to my Italian heritage.

    This rings especially true to me now when I look at how quickly my son is growing and changing, even over the course of a few months. Time really does fly by, and I'm determined to make the most of it.

  • Definitely not a singer!

  • The author I read the most is Ryan Holiday; in fact, most of his books are worth reading. I've recently finished reading the final book of a four-part series, each book focusing on one of the four cardinal virtues (Courage, Temperance, Justice and Wisdom). They are all worth checking out, however, my pick of the bunch is book 4: Wisdom Takes Work, as without wisdom you can't apply the other virtues.

    Not everyone is into stoicism or philosophy, so a fictional pick of mine is Project Hail Mary. If you enjoyed watching it on the big screen, you'll love reading it even more.

  • Probably Osaka, Japan. My wife and I have travelled to Japan a few times now, and Osaka always stood out to us over all the cities we visited. Great food and plenty of things to see and do, Dotonbori River is a great place to hang out and grab dinner together.
