I fell into financial planning over 20 years ago after studying architecture and hating it. I desperately needed a job, and Nigel needed someone to answer the phones. Within six months, I moved into a technical role and began studying because I was genuinely fascinated by how advice could change people's lives.
One of my strongest memories from my first year was taking notes during an estate planning appointment for a family whose loved one had sadly passed away. Within 30 minutes, Nigel had converted their worry into relief. Afterwards, I asked how he turned such a sad process into something so meaningful. He said, "The personal side of finance can't be learned from study materials - it's about listening and truly understanding what they need." That's when I knew this was what I wanted to do.
I love that we come to work to help people achieve their most ambitious goals and dreams. Nothing's more rewarding than seeing my clients excited they've made a big milestone. Plus every client is unique and the variety of advice keeps every day interesting.
When I'm not at work, softball is a huge part of my life - it's completely ingrained in who I am. I've been playing since I was 12, and I'm one of three generations in my family to throw a ball. I've competed in the Australian Masters Games and we came home with silver! It used to be all about winning... now it's about the camaraderie with friends who've celebrated milestones and pulled me through tough times. What am I saying... it's still about winning.
I enjoy staying involved in the community. I'm registered with the MS pro-bono scheme, and I've been part of Canning Vale Toastmasters since 2018. I've been long-term president of two softball clubs and treasurer and coached my children's tee-ball, netball, football and various other roles in sporting clubs.
In the little bits of spare time between work and sporting commitments, I enjoy trying to keep plants alive both at home and in the office.

The first person that comes to mind is Beyonce.
I know, at first glance, you might think it’s about the music. Yes, I’m a fan, BUT I’m incredibly impressed by her overall effort and achievements in life.
She’s a very hard-working mum who somehow juggles fame, family, business and fortune – I want to know EVERYTHING.
I’m in awe of her strong, dominant persona, and I’m a massive fan of how she reaches the top of her field and continues to strive for more.
Surely, over a final cheeky champagne, we’d be able to talk fashion. I LOVE her loud sense of style, and I’d kill for a glimpse into her wardrobe!

I have two - because why not?
1 – Who moved my cheese?
I’m at that stage where I’m finding change all around me – at work, at home and socially. This can be scary and this book discusses dealing with change. I can re-read this book and apply it to ANY situation.
2 – Winging it by Emma Isaacs
For years I struggled to “back myself” when moving into leadership roles. We always second guess our value and we’re normally the ones holding ourselves back from the dream. This book shares stories & tips on pushing yourself to the next level.

Aaron and I LOVE the hustle and bustle of a busy city, so I’d have to pick Tokyo. Everyone knows it’s been on my bucket list for 10 years since the birth of my daughter Jade, and I still have yet to visit. I’m desperate to get there! I love everything from the different cultures and fashion, bright lights, and jam-packed bullet trains to the beautiful landscapes. Cherry blossoms have been my favourite since I was young.
